I saw Phish this summer at Deer Creek. At this this point in their career each show they perform is in direct competition with past success and (for a large percentage of the audience) with the aura that surrounds the event. The music was mesmerizing and worth every pennty of the ticket price (which at $42 including parking) was a relative bargain.

Another thing that is very cool about Phish is that they’ve made the decision that in a world dominated by Kaaza and other file sharing programs the only way to make money is by performing live. In that vein, they’ve taken the ambitious step of making every concert they perform available for download at their website for the reasonable price of $10. If you have any curiousity about them, check out a show or two.
